William "Bill" J. Bishop

William "Bill" J. Bishop, age 88 of Hastings and formerly of Romeo, Michigan passed away, Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Pennock Hospital in Hastings.

Bill was born in Almont, Michigan, the son of William H. and Emma (Ferrier) Bishop.

He attended Armada High School in Armada, MI, graduating in 1941. Bill worked at Ford Motor Company for 34 years, retiring in 1985. He married Vivian Prey on August 26, 1975. Bill was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Hastings, MI. He had been an avid golfer, bowler and chess player. Bill loved to garden and work outside. He also loved to sing and play his guitar.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Bishop of Spring Harbor, MI and daughter, Judy Bishop of South Haven, MI.

Bill is survived by his wife, Vivian (Prey) Bishop of Hastings, MI; son, Ronald (Ginny) Bishop of Niles, MI; daughter, Kristine (Gary) Bishop of Titusville, FL; son, Randy (LuAnne) Bishop of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Judy (Tim) DuPont, of San Diego, CA; daughter, Julie Bishop of Leonard, MI; son, William (Tena) Bishop of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Linda (Joe) Siarkowski of Almont, MI; daughter Dianne (Dennis) Hurless of Concord, AR; 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and sister, Clara (Bishop) Bishop of Cedar Spring, MI.
