Ronald Alton Armour

Ronald Alton Armour, age 81 of Hastings, Michigan, passed away on October 15, 2021.  Ron was born on July 19, 1940, in Hastings, Michigan, the son of Alton D. and Evelyn G. (Manning) Armour.

Ron retired from Ketchum Machine Company in Freeport and was a Barry County Deputy.  He proudly served his country in the Army, stationed in Germany from 1957-1960.  On May 30, 1966, Ron married Mary Lee (Kelley) Armour, and they enjoyed 53 years together until her death in 2020.

Ron enjoyed motorcycles, tinkering in the garage, fishing and golfing.  He had a booth at various flea markets.  Ron liked helping people by mowing and building sheds.  He coached football and little league baseball.  He loved spending time with his grandkids and loved his cats and dogs.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Lee Armour, son Ronald Paul Armour, son-in-law Dennis Todd, brother Bryon Armour and sister Janice Lamie.

He is survived by his children Michael "Tony" (Cindy) Armour, Laura Armour, Cindy Thayer, Ted Armour, daughter-in-law Brenda Davis, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, brother David (Cathy) Armour, sister Kathy (Jeff) Brownell, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Cedar Creek Cemetery, 9701 Cedar Creek Road; Delton, MI  49046.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barry County Animal Shelter, 540 N.
